Dr. Oliver Schäfer

Oliver Schäfer primarily specialises in copyright and entertainment law and provides comprehensive counsel in all related legal matters, particularly in the fields of music and art law, IT law, press law and industrial property rights (trademark and competition law). He advises and represents artists (musicians, photographers, models, actors and authors), publishers, agencies, managements, architects, concert promoter, branded goods manufacturers and media companies, amongst other things in contractual matters and litigation.

Following law studies at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg und the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin with focus on copyright and industrial property rights, he took his doctorate at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin on a copyright subject. From 2003 to 2005, he held a position in the legal department of Universal Music GmbH. Having joined LICHTE Rechtsanwälte in 2006, he has been a partner since 2008.

Oliver Schäfer is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR).
